So, you’re new here?

Kink and kinky toys are wild, right? So many choices, so many options.

It can feel overwhelming. What will it feel like? Will I like it?

I get it! Lets start with the basics:

Consent first

Great scenes start with clarity. You could use our free compatibility resource to help you understand where you and your partner(s) line up in your interests. From there, our consent negotiation resource helps you to map wants, limits, and aftercare before you touch a toy. It’s short, practical, and built to prompt real conversations, not fill in a checklist.

So what’s your first toy?

When you are ready to choose, I would always advise getting hands on some toys before you buy. That could be heading to a play munch, having a chat with an experienced person in the scene, or going to one of the many kink markets around the country! Check out our instagram for the heads up where we will be.

When you go shopping, my impact toy shopping guide walks you through sensations, materials, and what actually matters for beginners buying their first toys (or anyone actually!).

I’ve got 4 great choices, but these aren’t just for beginners. These are the same incredible toys we sell to everyone, high quality, beautiful, and handmade:

Standard weight flogger

The traditional warm up toy, used and loved for years. Depending on how its swung this can be a tickling sensation or a deep, thuddy thwack!

  • Sensations: everything from tickling to a deep, moving thud.

  • Why beginners like it: a big variety of sensations, traditional floggers are not considered a painful toy, more sensation play.

  • Good for: every toy bag, warm ups especially.

Studded ass hammer

Such a multipurpose toy! Two hand positions, three striking surfaces - versatile and gives you options in play.

  • Sensations: thuddy and slappy

  • Why beginners like it: gives you 6 toys in one, two power levels and three sensations.

  • Good for: warm ups and some heavier hitting.

Ducky Paddle

Friendly, and a deep thud. Aim for gentle to medium swats for a satisfying squeak.

  • Sensations: thuddy, deep, and the squeak on impact is superb.

  • Why beginners like it: light hearted, predictable, some give on impact to ease you in.

  • Good for: first sessions, couples learning rhythm, playful scenes, warm up.

Baby Dragontail

Light, quick, and precise. You can keep it gentle or add a little zing as you grow confidence. Great as an introduction to whips and longer toys.

  • Sensations: stingy and sharp, short lived pain.

  • Why beginners like it: clear feedback, low weight, easy to steer and control.

  • Good for: short, snappy sensations, punishments, precision mean-ness!

How to start

  • Do your research, understand safe play and boundaries, and warm up slowly.

  • Communicate clearly, make sure everyone knows what means slow down and what means stop.

  • Plan for short scenes, then aftercare: snacks, water, cuddles - whatever that person wants!
